Job Description
My client are seeking an experienced logistics professional with strong customs knowledge to support out-of-hours operations. You'll manage customs entries, coordinate multimodal shipments, and resolve issues quickly while maintaining high accuracy and customer communication.
This role is being offered on a hybrid basis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as the first point of contact for customs and customer service queries during out-of-hours shifts.
2. Create and submit import/export entries in Descartes/CDS, monitoring and resolving any queries.
3. Coordinate Air, Sea, and Road movements, ensuring timely communication to prevent delays.
4. Prepare and verify shipping documentation and resolve discrepancies.
5. Manage DDP activity, including import clearance and duty/VAT payments.
6. Submit documentation to HMRC on time and maintain audit-ready records.
7. Ensure compliance with customs rules and liaise with brokers/authorities as needed.
8. Handle T1/T2 transit and ATA Carnets where required.
9. Operate to AEO standards and provide clear shift handovers. The Candidate:
10. Experience in a similar logistics role with UK customs knowledge.
11. Hands-on experience with Descartes, CDS, or Destin8.
12. Familiarity with imports/exports, ATA Carnets, and T1 transit (advantageous).
13. Flexible to work a 4-on/4-off shift pattern (including evenings and weekends).
14. Strong organisation, accuracy, and decision-making under pressure.
15. Confident communicator with customers and stakeholders.
16. Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
