Job Description
We have a number of exciting opportunities across the UK and Ireland (UK&I) for graduates to work within our Traffic Engineering Teams. This team is focused on developing engineering measures to achieve safe and efficient movement and interaction of pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles on our roads. We focus mainly on developing and appraising practical solutions which require consideration of traffic flows, road geometry, cycle facilities, traffic signs, pavement engineering, traffic signals and intelligent transport systems. We strive to achieve the optimum use of the available space, often constrained especially in urban areas. Our main aim is to create streets that are more pleasant and safe to use by our local communities.

We often work alongside other construction professionals, such as urban designers, in multi‑disciplinary teams to create great urban spaces. Overall, we deliver sustainable cost‑effective solutions to our clients, whether local or national authorities. Work is often fast‑paced and requires creativity, tenacity and excellent communication to achieve the right result for our clients whilst respecting the requirements of wider stakeholders and maintaining the highest industry standards.
Recent projects include the award‑winning Cycle Superhighways in London, the design of a new Manchester Metrolink extension to Trafford Park, the design of the Oxford Street Pedestrianisation, the design of the Melton Mowbray Bypass and the creation of innovative multimodal corridors in Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin, to name but a few.
