Head of Podiatry and AHP Clinical Delivery Group Lead

We are seeking an innovative and strategic individual to lead the podiatry services for Cardiff and Vale UHB. This role is responsible for the strategic direction, professional and clinical leadership of podiatry services across the life course and through prevention, community, in-patient and tertiary provision. Our award-winning Rehabilitation Model drives development of our services and we increasingly deliver practice through interprofessional AHP teams. As well as leading podiatry, this role provides senior leadership to a range of clinical services and professional staff within integrated AHP clinical teams.
This role provides expert clinical and professional leadership supporting the delivery of podiatric care and rehabilitation. It works closely with other senior leaders to align the strategic agenda with the delivery of therapy services providing high value, integrated, person-centred services and enabling our teams to thrive through fulfilling and rewarding job roles.
The role requires a leader with excellent communication and influencing skills, extensive experience of successfully innovating across a broad range of services with other professionals and service users through a co-productive approach.

Main duties of the job
Provide professional leadership for all podiatry staff, ensuring maintenance of professional standards and codes of practice. Lead the development of a strategic vision for podiatry that is owned by staff and aligned to UHB strategy. Ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, effective and person-centred care across the AHP Clinical Delivery Group in line with quality standards. Hold responsibility for an annual budget and lead financial management processes within the areas of responsibility. Provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership to promote a culture of education, research, innovation and continuous improvement across podiatry and AHPs more widely. Ensure robust clinical governance, in line with policies, standards and guidance. Contribute to strategic planning across the Directorate, leading business and workforce planning supporting recruitment and professional development, ensuring a sustainable workforce for the future. Establish effective communication systems and promote podiatry and AHPs in senior health and multi-agency forums.

Person Specification
Education
* Diploma/degree in podiatry leading to HCPC registration
* Appropriate range of postgraduate clinical education
* Evidence of a management/leadership training portfolio
* MSc relevant to job role
* Member of relevant professional body
Experience
* Experience in a Podiatry/AHP managerial/leadership role
* Experience of leading service delivery to recognised healthcare quality standards.
* Experience of having supervised and managed staff who are directly accountable to the post holder.
* Evidence of innovation and leading change management in operational practice
* Experience of managing substantial service change.
* Evidence of delivering service change through a co-productive approach.
Skills and attributes
