Role Overview
The primary goal of the Logistics Coordinator is to streamline transport operations, enhance efficiency, and professionally manage key transport-related processes. The role supports invoice management, tracks vehicle utilization, and improves operational oversight to help the business provide excellent customer service as it develops and grows.
The role also involves supporting fleet planning to ensure operational efficiency during high demand periods.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Logging and tracking vehicle bottlenecks to support claims and operational efficiency.
* Overseeing vehicle sales, VORs, and driver availability to maintain operational clarity.
* Communicating with staff to provide necessary information.
* Assisting with wages and holiday bookings.
* Booking jobs into the group weighbridge software.
* Ensuring drivers adhere to hours and regulations.
* Producing daily transport plans aligned with customer orders.
* Managing vehicle and trailer defects to ensure compliance.
* Monitoring vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections, and servicing.
* Tracking vehicle movements, downtime, and utilization.
* Supporting claims and disputes with accurate records of vehicle bottlenecks, times, and registrations.
Skills and Experience
* Strong organizational and administrative skills.
* Experience in transport or logistics administration is advantageous.
* Ability to accurately track and log vehicle movements.
* Familiarity with invoice management and cost tracking.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
* Ability to analyze data for improvement metrics.
* High IT literacy.
* Attention to detail and proactive, self-managing work style.
