The Opportunity
Avantor is looking for a Junior Quality Control Technician to join our innovative team! This full-time position will be based at our Hichrom site in Theale, Reading.

As Junior Quality Control Technician you will be responsible for performing routine product quality checks on HPLC columns and various in-house manufactured separation media. You will ensure that all finished products meet the required specifications before release to customers. Your role is essential in maintaining consistent, high-quality standards for products manufactured at Reading, meeting the expectations of our customers.

You'll join the Quality Control team where collaboration and team spirit are key. You'll work together to ensure products, processes and services meet the established standards of quality.
What We're Looking For
* GCSE in Maths & English and a curiosity about Science
* Life Sciences education/working background is preferred
* Previous quality control experience in a laboratory or pharmaceutical/manufacturing environment is desirable. Full training will be given.
* Ability to understand and follow Health & Safety instructions.
* Good communication skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work under pressure
How You'll Thrive And Create An Impact
* Submission of goods for final QC checks prior to dispatch to the customer
* Conducting OOS investigations where products fail to meet defined specifications
* Conduct analytical QC performance tests, of in-house manufactured separation media, to ensure lot to lot reproducibility, including pore size, surface area, and particle sizing
* Perform routine maintenance and validation activities
* Ensure both your own and your colleague's safety, by working in accordance with all relevant Production and Environmental, Health & Safety procedures, promptly reporting any incidents or accidents to a manager.
* Assist with preparing QC SOPs and reviewing product specifications
* Support the development and implementation of analytical QC performance tests, of in-house manufactured separation media, to ensure lot to lot reproducibility, including pore size, surface area, and particle sizing
* Follow process procedures diligently and give feedback for process improvements.
