If so, we’d love to hear from you About the Team The Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) has been operational since March 2016 and has quickly established itself as a world-leader in financial sanctions, a key area of foreign and national security policy. OFSI is the UK’s Competent Authority for financial sanctions. It leads on the implementation of UN and UK financial sanctions and domestic terrorist asset freezing, providing a high-quality service to the private and third sector, and guidance to help them follow the law. We work closely with law enforcement, intelligence agencies and strategic policy colleagues across Government to help ensure that financial sanctions are accurately understood, implemented and enforced. About the Job The advertised role in for a Senior Strategic Intelligence Analyst in the Threat Assessment Branch. The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of analysis and reporting on financial sanctions to inform both OFSI and Government’s operational strategy for implementing sanctions. Key responsibilities include: Intelligence Product Delivery: Manage and produce strategic intelligence reports, breaking down issues and risks by regime, sector, transaction type, and payment route. Deliver situational analysis and tailored intelligence products for internal and external customers. Threat Assessment Development: Design and refine processes for dynamic threat assessment, producing regular and ad hoc intelligence reports on current and emerging risks, using a wide range of data sources. Trend Monitoring: Analyse internal and external data to identify key threats, trends, and opportunities for proactive intervention. Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain systems for sharing strategic intelligence with government departments and enforcement partners at all classifications. Collaborate with analytical partners across Whitehall to embed best practice and ensure financial sanctions are considered in wider intelligence assessments and operational planning. Team Leadership : Line manage up to two Higher Executive Officers, supporting their professional development and enhancing analytical capability within the team. Intelligence Development : Identify intelligence gaps and opportunities to drive OFSI’s intelligence agenda and support proactive prevention and enforcement of sanctions breaches. About You You will have; Proven experience working as a business or intelligence analyst. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex or incomplete information, and make evidence-based recommendations under pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication, able to distil complex findings into clear, actionable advice for a range of audiences. Creative and independent thinker, comfortable with ambiguity and handling competing priorities. Proven ability to quickly understand complex and sensitive issues and exercise sound judgement. Managing stakeholder skills, building good working relationships, and handling different expectations.
