Job Description:
An excellent opportunity has become available for a Mobile Refrigeration Engineer covering the Motherwell region.
This role would suit an experienced Transport Refrigeration Engineer, although consideration would be given to experienced Motor Vehicle Technicians looking to get into the Transport Refrigeration Industry.
Reporting into the Regional Business Manager, you will work as part of a team of Mobile Refrigeration Engineers. The focus will be the maintenance and repair of ThermoKing refrigeration equipment used on large distribution vehicles. Our customers are busier than ever, so providing high levels of customer care is paramount for the success of our business and employees. The role duties include:
1. Installation, servicing, and repair of vehicle-powered road transport refrigeration units, limiting costs of stock used on contract accounts and maximising revenue generation in all areas.
2. Optimise and maintain engineer van stock to maintain and enhance service delivery to MFS customers.
3. Ensure relevant safety checks are carried out on the company van daily.
4. Maintain product and customer requirements knowledge to meet ISO9002 standards at all times. Undertake company training at our dedicated training centre in Aldridge, Birmingham, and self-development through the Certi-Tech certification process.
5. Liaise with central control and/or the service centre regarding job start and completion times, downtime, overtime authorization, cost updates, and customer purchase orders.
6. Complete all relevant paperwork and online (PDA) requirements to enable central control and invoicing, maintaining a high standard of customer interface and keeping the customer informed.
7. Assist with planning of installations and undertake installations and commissioning.
8. Perform other duties and projects that align with the general character of the position.
9. Ensure adherence to company procedures, policies, health & safety procedures, and ISO9002 standards.
10. Supervise apprentices and/or engineers in training (EIT) where applicable.
11. Prioritize customer service and ensure the professional appearance of self, van, tools, and spares.
Qualifications
Ideally hold an F-Gas qualification and have a relevant C&G or equivalent within an engineering discipline. Experience in refrigeration, air conditioning, or commercial engineering is required, along with high levels of customer care and attention.
Refrigeration, air conditioning, or mechanical engineering experience is necessary.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and being target-driven are essential.
Punctuality and efficiency are also important.
Additional information
UK driving licence required. Travel is necessary; van and major tools are supplied, along with a company fuel card. Additional payment is provided for overnight stays (for training). You will be paid door-to-door, from leaving home to returning home.
You must be physically fit to perform the required tasks. Participation in an on-call roster, including overtime and premium times, working nights and weekends when needed, is expected.
