Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. Responsibilities
* Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
* Support with mobility and transfer activities, including heavy lifting when necessary
* Administer medication following prescribed guidelines and document accordingly
* Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
* Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
* Manage behaviour effectively and implement behaviour management strategies
* Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to senior staff
* Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
* Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when necessary
Experience
* Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments preferred
* Knowledge of patient care techniques, Mental Health.
* Experience in medication administration and basic first aid procedures essential
* Familiarity with caregiving duties such as meal preparation and behaviour management advantageous
* Valid driving licence is desirable for transportation duties
* Experience working with vulnerable populations such as individuals requiring specialised care is a plus
