Job overview
This is a great opportunity for a motivated engagement worker to join the CAMHS Day Service, a new specialist provision offering intensive, person-centred interventions to young people at risk of inpatient admission.
You will work as part of a team to support children and young people with complex mental health needs, involved in assessments, formulations, and interventions, working directly with young people and their networks.
You will participate in clinical supervision and have access to ongoing professional development. There is significant scope for personal growth within the service.
Main duties of the job
As an Engagement Worker, you will improve mental health outcomes for children and young people by providing support and interventions aligned with care plans, especially during high distress or crisis periods.
Your work will support recovery and relapse prevention, responding to local needs and adhering to clinical guidelines, ensuring evidence-based practice.

You will have opportunities for development in working with eating disorders, including supervision and professional growth within a skilled multi-professional team.
The team offers evidence-based therapies—individual, family, and group—and works flexibly to maximize engagement across Derby and south Derbyshire, collaborating with adult and paediatric services, including First Steps eating disorder service.
Your main responsibilities include developing therapeutic relationships, providing support and interventions to promote wellbeing and recovery, and helping young people regain their usual roles and quality of life.
You should be able to offer flexible working and travel to various locations.
