Position Overview
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, to commence from 05 August 2026 until 03 August 2027. We are looking for an ambitious individual who wants to progress in their career as a future Obstetrician and/or Gynaecologist. The aim of this post is to act as a stepping stone towards this goal, and the post is designed to provide training to doctors with some experience in the specialty but able to act independently at a Registrar level. The successful applicant will be expected to be involved in postgraduate training of those at a ST1-2 level and to undergraduate medical students at the University of Cambridge. The applicant would also be expected to utilize the experience provided to contribute to service improvement projects and audits within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- On-call commitment on the Middle Grade Rota in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Tier Two of a Four-Tier on-call rota) with core level support
- Provide clinical care as a Resident Senior Registrar and support separate on-call consultants in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Contribute to service improvement projects and conduct audits within the department
- Involve in postgraduate training of ST1-2 doctors and undergraduate medical students
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- MRCOG part 1
- Minimum of two years experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Minimum of one year experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology within the NHS
- Experience working on an Obstetrics & Gynaecology on-call rota
- Demonstrated English language skills (reading, writing, speaking) sufficient for effective medical communication
Desirable Qualifications
Additional Requirements for Skilled Worker Sponsorship
- Applicants requiring skilled worker sponsorship must provide a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past ten years
- Adult dependants over 18 will also be subject to this requirement
