Purpose of Role The Retail Design Lead is responsible for the development and implementation of the Corporate Identity across the global McLaren retail environments. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our Corporate Identity is not only conceptualised but also executed flawlessly across various touchpoints. You will work closely with the McLaren marketing brand team, retailers, and suppliers. This is a detail focused design and brand management role. Reporting to the Network Development Manager, the Retail Design Lead will be responsible for the continuous development and implementation of the Corporate Identity Strategy, ensuring our VI is effectively translated into 3D environments. In addition, the Retail Design Lead will be responsible for the design delivery of new showroom retail locations and upgrade projects including all relevant guideline documents. Attention to detail, communication and organisation are critical to this role, to ensure retailer projects are managed effectively with a high degree of accuracy and within agreed timelines. This role requires 3 days per week based at the McLaren Technology Centre in Surrey with occasional travel to showrooms and suppliers. Principal Accountabilities Key Activities: Ownership of the McLaren Corporate Identity for all areas of a retailer environment including showroom, workshop & building exteriors Ensure the McLaren Brand Corporate Identity has consistent application across McLaren Network facility locations. Support the Network Development Manager with the development from concept through to design, delivery, and integration into the McLaren Corporate Identity of new concepts/initiatives. Ownership of showroom guideline documents which support our network in delivering a best-in-class customer journey in the retail environment. Establish and maintain effective working relations with key stakeholders both internally and externally including suppliers, retailers, and global McLaren departments. Act as brand guardian for the McLaren Corporate Identity Showroom Design: Development of customer journey principles in the McLaren retail environment Architect briefings on design intent, design delivery, technical drawings & specifications Review local architect/design teams construction drawings and provide feedback Point of contact for detailing and support on each project Produce showroom close out and snagging reports with images. Responsible for facility design sign off for each project. Retail standards: Produce retail standard guidelines to support the network in ensuring the correct McLaren Corporate Identity Knowledge, Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in interior architecture, 3D Design, or similar discipline. Adequate knowledge of branded environments, brand standards, identity, messaging hierarchies, typography and guidelines creation as they relate to physical space. Proven experience within the retail design sector, ideally luxury retail Have an excellent grasp on how brand strategy can impact physical, human spaces. Be up to date with Retail industry trends and latest technologies with focus on network best practice. Commercial acumen and detail oriented with excellent project management, time management and organisational skill set (required) Strong ability to work closely with creative agency partners. Experience with material specification and procurement Experience with design software including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop (not essential) 3D modelling including Cinema4D, Sketchup, Vectorworks3D (not essential) Experience in automotive Industry (not essential) Personal Attributes Ability to move between short and long-term activities with agility and absorb ideas and tasks quickly.
