Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of planned maintenance contracts across residential and mixed-use properties in Leeds and the surrounding area. This pivotal position will play a key part in upholding commercial controls and ensuring smooth project delivery within framework and partnership models.
Responsibilities
* Overseeing all commercial and financial aspects of planned maintenance contracts from pre-contract through to final account.
* Preparing and managing detailed budgets, cost plans, and valuations; ensuring projects are delivered against targets.
* Leading procurement processes, appointing and managing subcontractors and suppliers.
* Monitoring and reporting on cost and value, conducting monthly CVRs, and supporting accurate cash flow forecasting.
* Managing variations, early warnings, compensation events, and claims; administering contracts and payment cycles.
* Fostering collaborative working relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
* Mentoring and supporting less experienced commercial staff within the commercial team.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial lead role within planned maintenance, social housing, or property refurbishment environments.
* Demonstrable background in contract administration, particularly with JCT and/or NEC forms of contract.
* Strong cost management, negotiation, and reporting skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating leadership and initiative.
* A relevant qualification (HND, degree or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
* Full UK driving licence.
