Head of IT Product Development and Delivery About the role We are seeking to recruit a new Head of IT Product Development and Delivery (ITPDD) within our central IT function, Technology and Information Services (TIS). The role is part of the Senior Leadership team within TIS and involves leading a function responsible for a range of IT services to the University, its staff, students and partners.
Provide technical leadership and oversight of our Infrastructure Services Team, Solution Design Team, Technical Design Authority, and Continuous DevOps Team, utilizing contemporary software techniques and ITIL/Agile methodologies to drive continuous improvement in digital capabilities across the University.
Work with colleagues across TIS to ensure that appropriate, structured processes are in place and that current and new IT services are effective and efficient.
Collaborate with other units across the University to ensure the services delivered remain fit for purpose and meet changing business needs.
Bring in knowledge from across the sector and industry to maintain a high‑quality digital experience aligned with strategic aims and business plans.
Have experience across the full IT spectrum, ideally from a medium‑size enterprise, and hold a relevant professional qualification in an IT‑related discipline.
What we’re looking for A strong understanding of business processes and information provision, with expert knowledge of contemporary software industry techniques and trends. Must be a practitioner in ITIL version 3, PRINCE2 and/or Agile, with demonstrable experience managing teams within these environments. Working experience in a medium‑size enterprise and a professional IT qualification are required.
