Financial Accountant (Reporting)

Overview
Our client is an international insurer and reinsurer with a presence in multiple global locations. They are looking for a Financial Accountant (Reporting) to join their Reporting Centre of Excellence, following an internal promotion.
This role is ideal for a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant who enjoys working with data, improving processes and supporting high-quality financial reporting across a large division.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce accurate and timely financial reports in line with group and divisional requirements.
* Work with large data sets to support high-quality financial results and insightful analysis.
* Perform checks and reconciliations to ensure data integrity and consistency across systems.
* Post journals and adjustments in relevant finance systems to support group and statutory reporting.
* Identify and support process improvements, including automation, enhanced controls, and more efficient ways of working.
* Partner with colleagues across Finance and other teams to maintain strong service levels and resolve reporting queries.
* Support and share knowledge with colleagues in offshore shared service centres.
* Contribute to ad-hoc analysis and reporting projects as required.
About You
* Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or significant experience in a finance role.
* Experience in financial services is beneficial but not essential; applications from other industries are welcome.
* Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a clear commitment to quality and control.
* Comfortable working with financial systems and data; experience with tools such as Oracle, HFM, Hyperion, Wdesk or Alteryx is an advantage (or a strong willingness to learn).
* Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and better ways of working.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders.
