Daily Cover Support Teaching Assistant
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Contract: Daily supply / flexible cover
Start Date: Immediate
Pay: £90–£105 per day (depending on experience)
We are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Support Teaching Assistants to provide daily cover in welcoming and inclusive primary schools across St Albans. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, adapts quickly to new environments, and is passionate about supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
The Role:
1. Providing classroom support across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 as required
2. Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
3. Assisting the class teacher with learning activities and behaviour management
4. Supporting pupils with additional needs where appropriate
5. Helping to create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
6. Have experience working with primary-aged children (school-based experience preferred)
7. Be flexible, proactive, and confident working across different classrooms
8. Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
9. Be patient, nurturing, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
10. Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
