The Role
We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This role is particularly well suited to someone with experience (or a keen interest in developing experience) in:
1. Supporting pupils with regulation and emotional/behavioural needs
2. Working closely with children with complex medical needs and/or significant learning disabilities
3. Implementing personalised strategies to promote engagement, independence and positive outcomes
As part of our team, you will work under the direction of class teachers, therapists, and senior support staff to deliver high‑quality learning opportunities and uphold the school’s strong safeguarding culture.
Key Responsibilities
4. Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with varying levels of need
5. Support pupils with regulation, co‑regulation and emotional wellbeing
6. Assist with the implementation of behaviour support plans and personalised strategies
7. Foster a calm, safe, and structured learning environment
8. Assist with medical or personal care tasks (training provided)
9. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals
10. Help prepare resources, maintain classroom organisation, and contribute to wider school life
About You
We are looking for someone who is:

12. Confident in supporting behaviour and emotional regulation (or willing to learn)
13. Able to remain calm and consistent during challenging moments
14. A strong communicator and positive role model
15. Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
16. Willing to undertake training related to medical needs, behaviour support, and SEND practice
Experience in a SEND setting is beneficial but not essential – training and mentoring will be provided for the right candidate.
