Senior Teaching Assistant - SEN Support
Start Date: 19th January
Contract: Full-time | Initially for one full term (with potential to extend due to sickness cover)
Hours: Monday-Friday | 8:30am-3:30pm
We are seeking an experienced and confident Senior Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school team from 19th January. This is a full-time role, initially for one full term, with the possibility of extension depending on staffing needs.
The Role
As a Senior Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff to ensure pupils can access learning and make progress.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Providing targeted support to pupils with SEN, both 1:1 and in small groups
* Supporting the implementation of EHCP targets and individual support plans
* Assisting with differentiation and adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
* Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation where required
* Offering guidance and informal support to other Teaching Assistants when needed
* Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
* Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a senior or lead role
* Has strong experience supporting children with SEN ( ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties)
* Is confident, proactive and able to use their initiative
* Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff and pupils
* Is calm, patient and passionate about supporting children's development
