An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Duty Solicitor to join our clients Crime Department. Our client is ideally seeking 2 years' PQE, but it also welcoming applications from newly qualified Solicitors.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage your own criminal law caseload
* Assist the Head of Department on complex matters
* Advocate in court on a wide variety of cases
* Prepare cases for Crown Court
* Represent clients at police stations
* Act as a Duty Solicitor
* Work outside office hours when required
* Travel between offices, courts and police stations as needed
Requirements
* Qualified Duty Criminal Solicitor (2 years PQE preferred; NQs considered)
* Strong case and time management skills
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities
* Proficiency in IT
* Professional, polite and patient manner
* Ability to meet office targets, budgets and billing requirements
* Sound knowledge of Criminal Law
* Understanding of Law Society requirements for private practice
* Commitment to ongoing training and development
* Higher Rights of Audience desirable
