Job Title: HVAC Engineer

About the Role
As part of our continued growth, SOLIS Group is seeking an experienced and fully qualified HVAC Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems across a variety of domestic and/or commercial properties. The position requires a strong commitment to safety, energy efficiency, and full compliance with relevant UK building and HVAC regulations. Key Responsibilities
· Adhere to all F-Gas regulations and requirements related to refrigerant handling, transfer, and disposal.
· Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems.
· Record PPM findings accurately using handheld devices or paper-based documentation.
· Respond to reactive breakdown requests received through the Company Helpdesk.
· Work closely with the Helpdesk team to provide timely, accurate progress updates and ensure prompt closure of job tickets.
· Attend emergency callouts as required during normal working hours and participate in the out-of-hours and weekend on-call rota.
· To be fully compliant with Health and Safety protocol.
· Installing new HVAC systems according to blueprints, schematics, and work plans.
· Placing and connecting components like ductwork, pipes, wiring, and control panels.
· Ensuring systems are properly installed and meet local building codes.
· Performing routine inspections and cleaning to prevent breakdowns and maintain peak efficiency.
· Diagnosing and troubleshooting system malfunctions, including both mechanical and electrical components.
· Communicating with clients to understand their needs and discuss system malfunctions.
· Completing and closing out work orders in a computer system, including time and materials used.
· Working with tools and equipment safely, which can involve physical work in confined spaces or hard-to-reach areas like attics and rooftops.
· Understanding and applying knowledge of HVAC principles, air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration.
· Staying up to date with new technologies and energy-efficient product.
Key Requirements
· Commercial gas essential.
· Domestic gas desirable.
· Relevant SVQ/SCQF-level vocational qualification in Heating, Ventilation, or Air-Conditioning.
· Commercial Combustion Gas Safe Qualifications (CCN1 and COCN1 required; additional modules such as ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, CENWAT, and other relevant domestic qualifications are advantageous).
· F-Gas Certification for safe handling of refrigerants.
· Gas Safe Register registration.
· Proven experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems.
· Knowledge of domestic and commercial HVAC, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
· Understanding of UK building regulations, safety standards, and HVAC compliance requirements.
· Experience with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
· Flexibility to work across multiple sites and participate in out-of-hours rota.
· Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Attention to detail and commitment to health and safety.
· Full UK Manual Driving License (essential).
