Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Purchasing Administrator to support a busy Purchasing Team with a wide range of purchasing and procurement activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
·Support the day-to-day operations of the purchasing function
·Assist with the sourcing and procurement of materials and services
·Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to prevent disruption to operational schedules
·Process and price high volumes of invoices, checking against agreed price lists and liaising with the finance team as part of the purchase ledger process
·Manage the ordering and stock control of PPE and workwear for the head office, coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders on stock levels and pricing
·Coordinate weekly van stock orders across multiple response areas, ensuring orders are processed on time and ready for collection at designated locations
·Act as the point of contact for suppliers supporting a specific response area, using online supplier systems daily, carrying out system checks, and ensuring PO numbers are always available
·Monitor, record, and escalate supplier price increases to senior team members
·Provide general administrative support within the purchasing department
·Undertake additional duties as required that are consistent with the nature of the role
Skills & Experience
·Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or administrative role is desirable, but training will be provided.
·Strong organisational and time-management skills
·Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
·Confident communicator, able to liaise with suppliers and internal teams
·Ability to work on own initiative and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
·Competent IT skills, including experience with purchasing or finance systems
