The Role
Manage a series of new and existing customers to provide a service supplying them with quality composite parts, ensuring a sustainable level of profit for the company. The role involves working as part of a wider team on larger projects or managing customer projects directly. It requires a practical individual with diverse responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Coordinate projects from concept to delivery.
2. Handle commercial responsibilities and estimating.
3. Manage customer accounts.
4. Develop innovative manufacturing solutions for parts.
5. Design tools when required.
6. Input data into Progress, maintain BOMs, load sales orders, and ensure delivery notes are provided.
7. Establish clear project requirements with customers before manufacturing begins.
8. Prepare Engineering Management plans, including estimates for schedule and resources.
9. Create clear work instructions for manufacturing staff.
10. Ensure timely availability of materials through procurement or delegation.
11. Modify layup books and sign-off sheets as parts evolve or quality issues arise.
12. Collaborate with the quality team to ensure best practices.
13. Manage component manufacturing through the factory and external suppliers.
14. Coordinate part manufacture on the shop floor with production supervisors.
15. Assist with operating and maintaining shop-floor equipment such as autoclaves and ovens.
16. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant technical and quality areas.
17. Negotiate variations to contracts or jobs.
18. Keep the accounts department updated on invoicing, WIP, and assist with chasing overdue payments.
19. Experience with Siemens NX or SolidWorks is highly beneficial.
20. Occasional UK and overseas travel may be required.
Key Experience & Qualifications
* Degree-level education in Engineering.
* Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
* Experience with composite and GRP materials and manufacturing.
Additional Information
Salaried roles include 25 days holiday, PMI, and dental cover after 1 year of service. Working hours are 40 per week, Monday to Thursday 8:00–17:00, and Friday 8:00–14:00.
Salary: £40,000+ DOE
