Role: Lawyer REF 130047 Contract Length: Until 31/10/2026 Location: Hackney IR35: Inside Pay Rate to Intermediary: £50 per hour Spinwell is recruiting for a Lawyer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE LAWYER Expert Advice: Deliver clear, consistent, and accurate legal advice to Council services and Members. Caseload Management: Manage a demanding caseload of complex legal matters, ensuring all work meets formal practice management standards (Lexcel). Advocacy & Representation: Undertake advocacy in courts and tribunals and attend evening committee meetings as required to advise on governance and procedure. Strategic Contribution: Assist in the development of corporate policies and operational plans that secure the achievement of Council objectives. Documentation: Draft complex legal reports and documentation while conducting thorough legal research and analysis SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE LAWYER A professional who is qualified as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives. Sector Expertise: Proven experience in areas of law relevant to Education and Local Government. Communication Skills: Highly developed oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively. Operational Excellence: Experience using case management systems and a track record of achieving chargeable hours targets (minimum 1,200 per annum).
