Our client is a leading supplier of products within the construction and agricultural market. They provide a full-service solution across Design, Supply & Installation. With a strong industry reputation, they are now looking for a Junior Estimator to join their growing team.
Role Overview
This is a customer-facing role requiring a keen eye for detail, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work from CAD software and technical drawings. As a Junior Estimator, you will be responsible for managing document control, producing accurate take-offs, and assisting in the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
Key Responsibilities
1. Assisting with the preparation of cost estimates for products across a range of construction projects
2. Supporting the senior team by reviewing project drawings and specifications
3. Using CAD software and Bluebeam to interpret technical drawings and carry out quantity take-offs
4. Helping to prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and project costings
5. Liaising with customers to gather project information and understand requirements
6. Maintaining organised project documentation and supporting document control procedures
7. Working closely with internal teams including design and project management to ensure pricing accuracy and project efficiency
Key Requirements
8. Previous experience within the construction industry, ideally in a junior estimating, technical, or commercial role
9. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
10. Some experience with quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BoQs) would be advantageous
11. Good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
12. Familiarity with CAD software and/or Bluebeam is desirable
13. Strong communication skills with a willingness to learn and develop
14. Well organised with good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks
