Hours Per Week
10 hours per week during term times ( Monday- Friday, 2pm until 4pm)
6 hours per week during the non-term times (2 x 3 hour days)
About the role
I am a 16 year old man with nermaline rod myopathy (muscular dystrophy), I have terminal bronciextasis with restrictive lung disease that requires 24/ 7 bipap ventilation, oxygen, alongside this I am bipap & O2 oxygen dependent.
I have a physical disability and require full support within all aspects of daily activities that will enhance my independence to achieve the desired quality of life, although I can do most things independently I still require assistance more so when I’m unwell.
Tasks will include supporting myself and family members with personal care, administrating medications, assisting with flushing my jejunostromy tube, intensive physiotherapy, suctioning, ensuring I am being given the correct amount of oxygen for my needs dependent on the day and keeping me active, full training will be provided alongside this any hospital admissions candidate will be required to locate to where I have been admitted. ( This will only be for local admissions)
My interests
I have a passion of playing a variety of of games such as, Fortnite, sonic and various car games and always willing to be introduced to new games. I socialise with my family and we take part in various activities that I enjoy such as lego, watching family films and crafts.
About you
I would like to be able to build a friendship with this individual and for the right candidate to be very hands on when required, outgoing and supportive and share similar interests as I.
Due to the nature of the care and support I require, individuals with suctioning, physiotherapy and knowledge around when to increase and decrease oxygen intake would be more beneficial to the role however full training will be provided.
Requirements
The candidate to have a full UK driving license and vehicle of there own.
This role will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the disclosure and barring service (DBS)
