This is your opportunity to assist people from diverse backgrounds to live the best and most independent life they can. As a qualified casual Support Worker Home Care, your main responsibility will be to help our clients within their homes to maintain independence while assisting with day-to-day activities and improving their quality of life.
While you may work across a wide area in either the Northern or Southern Suburbs, a typical day would include:
1. Supporting clients to be independent.
2. Helping clients maintain a clean and safe home environment.
3. Providing meaningful social interaction.
4. Assisting with personal care, shopping, travel to appointments, or a stroll in the park.
5. Supporting clients to meet care needs and attend medical appointments.
6. Completing progress notes at the end of each shift.
7. Reporting escalations of care needs to Coordinators and Case Managers.
A high level of empathy and understanding for people from various backgrounds is essential. Our ideal candidates will be comfortable handling complex behaviors, with the resilience and skills needed to respond appropriately to any situation.
The successful candidate will have:
1. Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support (Ageing).
2. A current Driver's License, a reliable registered car, and comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.
3. Experience in aged care or support services sector.
4. Ability to adapt to clients' needs effectively, including respecting their voice.
5. Good interpersonal skills, communication, and a willingness to address and work through challenges.
