Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our vehicle manufacturing team working mainly on tankers. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components with precision and efficiency, contributing to the production of high-quality products. Duties
* Perform MIG / TIG welding and other welding techniques on various materials, including sheet metal and structural components.
* Utilise hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
* Conduct quality checks on welded joints and fabricated components to meet safety and quality standards.
* Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or structures.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
* Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and optimise workflow.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in MIG / TIG welding and general fabrication within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
* Strong understanding of sheet metal work, assembly processes, and mechanical principles.
* Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and blueprint reading.
* Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues during fabrication or welding processes.
* Prior experience working with various welding techniques specific to standards is desirable.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
