Job Title: Quality Engineer Location: Northamptonshire Salary / Pay Rate: £40k - £45k p/a Shift / Hours: Mon-Thurs 8am - 5pm / Friday 8am - 2pm About the Company My client is a UK-based leader in high-precision engineering and CNC machining, renowned for delivering components within the aerospace, motorsport, medical, defence, and electric vehicles industry. The Role You will play a key role in ensuring the compliance of both purchased and internally manufactured components. This role is responsible for generating, managing, and maintaining key quality documentation and supporting robust quality processes to ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in quality systems, problem-solving, and hands-on measurement techniques within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Produce and maintain quality documentation for new and existing projects in line with customer requirements. Create templates and ensure all documentation is properly linked, correlated, and stored within existing quality systems. Generate inspection reports Prepare documentation such as: 8D Reports / Control Plans / Process Flow Charts Lead the resolution of quality issues arising during production, supporting manufacturing teams in process adherence. Initiate corrective actions promptly when non-conformances are identified Conduct root cause analysis collaboratively with technical and manufacturing teams. Compile comprehensive quality reports on findings. Perform basic dimensional and visual inspections during periods of inspector absence. Maintain the gauge control system and ensure all records are up to date. Identify calibration, validation, and maintenance requirements. Conduct internal audits in line with ISO 9001 standard About You: Strong hands-on experience with manual measuring equipment and gauge control/calibration. Fully conversant with core Quality Tools: Control Plans, ISIR, 8D problem-solving, etc. Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Highly organised, disciplined, and detail-oriented. Minimum 5 years' experience within an Engineering, Mechanical, or Metallurgical environment. Minimum 3 years' experience within a Quality department. Proficient computer skills, comfortable using ERP systems and MS Office daily.
