Senior Shift Technician
Salary starting at £52,513, shift rotation allowance, 10% bonus potential, 25 days annual leave, and a company pension scheme with highly competitive contribution.

Reporting to the Technical Maintenance Manager of the Midlands Super Hub, you will:
1. Provide expert technical support during operation, including managing complex breakdowns, analyzing technical data, supporting front-line technicians, and ensuring the engineering team responds to automation issues promptly.
2. Serve as the senior engineering representative within the system control room; monitor key performance metrics, support the operational management team, and drive automation efficiency.
3. Ensure effective knowledge transfer of Beumer technologies and systems, working closely with BG System Analyst to maintain technical expertise on-site after support contracts end.
4. Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities to enhance reliability and performance of hub automation, supporting cost-effective solutions and coaching teams as needed.
5. Perform safety audits, inspections, assessments, and attend operational meetings to understand automated processes, sharing insights with engineers through WTLL sessions.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
* Qualification to Level 4, HNC, or HND, preferably with a degree in a relevant engineering field.
* Experience with PLC Systems including Siemens S7, SIMATIC, SIMOVE, and CODESYS.
* Qualifications as a machinery directive compliance assessor (PUWER) and IOSH Managing Safety certified manager.
* Knowledge of ISO 55000 asset maintenance strategies.
* Understanding of cost versus risk and change management theories, with practical experience in deploying continuous improvement processes.
* Strong leadership, communication, influencing skills, and experience managing professional technical engineering teams.
Shift Pattern
A 5-week rotating schedule with 4 weeks of operational shifts between 06:45 - 19:15 and 18:45 - 07:15, plus one week of pool cover shifts, averaging 41 hours per week. Shift pattern can be discussed during interview.
