Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical Assembler
Job Purpose
To assemble simple and complex mechanical and electro-mechanical components in accordance with engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions, as directed by the Line Manager, and in line with company procedures and policies.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Complete all tasks safely and in accordance with company Health & Safety policies.
2. Demonstrate full competence in the safe use of various hand and bench tools.
3. Attend any training courses required by the company.
4. Interpret and understand engineering drawings and work instructions.
5. Maintain a strong focus on quality in all mechanical/electro-mechanical assembly tasks.
6. Follow verbal instructions from team members and the Line Manager.
7. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
8. Behave openly and honestly within the working environment.
9. Undertake customer and supplier visits by car when required (full driving licence and valid passport required).
10. Produce components to the quality standards required by the company.
Qualifications
* Standard education level including English, Maths, and a science subject.
Experience
* Experience assembling simple and complex mechanical/electro-mechanical components with strong attention to quality.
* Defence sector experience (preferred but not essential).
* Extensive use of hand tools, including torque drivers.
* Experience with ESD procedures (preferred but not essential).
Skills & Abilities
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Computer literate (MS Office).
* Patient and effective problem-solving ability.
* Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and documentation.
* Skilled in the use of various hand and bench tools for high-quality assembly work.
* Strong quality focus throughout all build processes.
Knowledge
* Understanding of principles required to assemble simple and complex tasks.
* Knowledge of how to use a wide selection of components to assemble quality sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
* Understanding of the use and purpose of Loctite and adhesives.
