Excellent opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join our client’s team in Newport.
The Role:
* Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate to ensure cost-efficient, timely, and effective goods and service.
* Analyse, negotiate, and report supplier price changes
* Obtain price comparisons and evaluate market trends to develop new services and create cost savings
* Forecast market trends affecting material and service availability costs, raw material, and products
* Select new and alternative sources of supply
* Ensure all purchasing requisitions and programmes are correct and reflect the current supplier’s lead-times, keeping management and user departments informed where changes threaten work programmes
* Follow up on rejected material and obtain necessary credit
* Minimise the company’s exposure regarding MOQs and price increases
* Liaise proactively with other departments to ensure output
* Ensure compliance with company codes of conduct
* Administration and reporting as required
* International trading issues/imports/legal, awareness
* Identify areas of process improvement and make suggested changes
The Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience in a purchasing role in an electronics manufacturing environment
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent IT proficiency
* Strong attention to detail
* Proactive and able to work on own initiative
