Role Overview

The Facilities and Community Coordinator will be the vibrant face and heartbeat of Island, championing exceptional service, curating memorable experiences, and supporting operational excellence of the building. The role blends customer-facing energy with behind-the-scenes precision, contributing to placemaking, community-building, and seamless facilities support.
This is a proactive and people-focused role. You should be confident, engaging, and passionate about people, with established community connections and a commitment to sustainability and equality. You will work closely with the Building Manager to uphold high standards across the site, lead on event coordination, and drive community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Community & Customer Experience
* Be the go-to person for occupiers and guests, delivering a warm and memorable welcome.
* Lead placemaking initiatives and themed events that bring the space and its people to life.
* Build relationships with local retailers, artists, startups, and community groups to grow the network.
* Support and promote regular social, educational, and business events in the space.
* Champion occupier feedback and use it to continually enhance service and experience.
* Maintain and update engagement platforms like digital displays.
Facilities & Building Operations
* Assist and support the Building Manager in overseeing all communal areas, ensuring they are clean, functional, and welcoming.
* Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, liaising with contractors and logging tasks via systems; ensure H&S records and statutory compliance are up to date.
* Conduct regular site inspections and meter readings.
* Manage the P2P (Purchase to Pay) process and maintain financial records, including quotations and purchase orders.
* Support Building Manager with emergency procedures, reports and data insights, and implement best practice.
* Liaise with tenants and respond to day-to-day operational and maintenance queries with efficiency and care, ensuring follow-up through to resolution.

Qualifications & Experience

* Working knowledge of health and safety legislation and building compliance (training provided).
