Support time and recovery worker | cambridgeshire and peterborough nhs foundation trust

Cambridge
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust
Recovery worker
Posted: 21 September
Offer description

Overview

Our skilled Support, Time and Recovery (STR) workers focus on building strong, positive relationships with the people they support—and their families too. It’s all about trust, empathy, and creating a safe space for recovery to begin. The successful applicant will not work alone and will collaborate closely with our mental health nurses, social workers, psychiatrists, and other professionals to ensure care is holistic and tailored to each individual. Helping people reconnect with their communities is a big part of the role, including supporting individuals in overcoming loneliness and rebuilding their social lives. For those facing challenges with drugs or alcohol, STR workers offer guidance, encouragement, and practical support on the road to recovery. Sometimes individuals may express distress through difficult behaviour; STR workers are trained to respond with patience, understanding, and effective strategies. Whether it’s self-directed support, joining a local group, volunteering, or getting out and about, STR workers help people find meaningful ways to engage with their communities, housing, councils and health care services.
