The Technical & Support / Income Team provides a wide range of support services and functions across Transactional and Customer Services.
We are looking to recruit a Technical and Support Officer to join our fast-paced and diverse team.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
The Technical and Support team covers several areas of responsibility including:
1. Testing and implementation of all system enhancements and software releases.
2. Developing opportunities to maximise the use of technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the system and the service.
3. Integrating systems to provide data to support the completion of government statistical returns.
4. Providing system maintenance, security, and support to the service area's core systems.
5. Providing technical and support services for service improvement projects.
6. Preparing and presenting appeals to the Valuation Tribunal regarding Council Tax liability and discretionary reductions.
7. Providing Quality Assurance for teams within transactional and customer service.
8. Coordinating, designing, and delivering training for internal and external stakeholders as required.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You should be educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and have experience working in a Revenues and Benefits setting and/or a financial services or support environment. You should have detailed knowledge of Revenues and Benefits legislation and practice and possess excellent ICT skills.
You should be an excellent communicator, able to work under pressure, and occasionally outside of normal office hours.

HYBRID WORKING
Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy: 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote. This model is pro-rated for part-time roles and arrangements are at managers' discretion; alternatively, you can work all contracted hours in the workplace if preferred.
