Extrusion Setter Wythenshawe, Manchester £38,000 – £40,000 per annum Full-time | Shift-based role We’re looking for an experienced Extrusion Setter to join our production team in Wythenshawe. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in ensuring high-quality extruded products are produced safely, efficiently, and in line with specifications. The Role Reporting to the Shift Supervisor / Production Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of extrusion equipment, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and housekeeping requirements are consistently met. Key Responsibilities Set up, start up, shut down and optimise extrusion lines Monitor production processes to ensure optimum running conditions Carry out tooling changeovers, barrel and screw cleaning Resolve machine-related production and quality issues quickly and effectively Monitor, measure and record quality checks throughout each shift Maintain product quality in line with specifications and setting sheets Minimise scrap and contribute to improved machine efficiency Provide clear and effective end-of-shift handovers Assist with extrusion trials (where applicable) Support and assist other extrusion setters and operators Use forklift trucks and manual handling to move raw materials and finished goods Maintain high standards of housekeeping and 5S within the department Follow all health & safety procedures and report any breaches immediately Key Performance Indicators Production downtime Scrap levels Quality complaints Machine efficiency Housekeeping standards About You You’ll be a self-motivated and technically capable extrusion professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
