Position Purpose & Summary
The key responsibilities of the Engineering Supervisor include safe systems of work, alignment to reliability excellence practices/programs, hands on maintenance support, project support, contractor/vendor management, training/development and people management.
They will oversee the daily operation of the maintenance engineers and contractors along with the Engineering Manager making sure safety, repair & work documentation expectations are met, with a key role in improving the reliability of the entire facility and supporting/delivering Projects.
This role will deputise for the Engineering Manager when not available.
Principal Accountabilities
* Provide hands on, technical and troubleshooting support as needed to unplanned breakdowns.
* Requirement to be involved with maintenance tasks along with team daily.
* Coordinate the work allocation to the team. Plan and prioritize work requests, PPMs, and reactive maintenance to ensure it is done on time and within KPI’s.
* Administration of the CMMS system. Executing, reviewing, writing and amending TPM routines.
* Liaising with external contractors for specialist maintenance activities (ie servicing, inspections and calibration of equipment)
* Stock control of parts through suppliers and identifying critical spares.
* Support continuous improvement activities via IDEX, 5y and 5s, root cause analysis and other CI tools.
* Support/Supervise ongoing maintenance and reliability related projects (ie. asset reliability and defect elimination)
* To ensure the safe working of all Cargill employees, contractors and visitors, by direct supervision, completing Behavioural safety audits, risk assessments, permit to work documentation and safety conversations.
* To support development of the Maintenance Engineers to ensure skill needs for the plant are met and they are competent.
* Manage the cover in the Engineering team, along with the overtime requirement of the Maintenance Engineers in conjunction with the Engineering Manager
* Manages maintenance budget with the Engineering Manager. With responsibility for a subset of cost control of repairs and maintenance and also maintenance labour and parts

Education, Experience, Skills
Required Experience / Qualifications
* Time served multiskilled Engineer, educated to NVQ level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical discipline with relevant Hands-on experience in a Manufacturing Plant.
* Managing a multi-disciplined team within manufacturing at first line level.
* Experience with (CMMS) such as ShireSystems, SAP, etc
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* IT literate.
Preferred Experience / Qualifications
* Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor.
* IOSH Managing Safely qualified.
* Hold certification for IPAF, PASMA, MANSAFE, CONFINED SPACE
Other relevant information to the position
* Location is specific to Dalton, UK
* Regular exposure to plant manufacturing shop-floor environments (requires PPE)
* 42.5 Hours per week, Days Role, 8am-5pm with some flexibility around working hours required for business needs
* Overtime available on weekend
