Geospatial Consultant – Water Sector
Join the award‑winning team of geospatial experts within Stantec’s Water Sector team in Edinburgh, working in a hybrid model (3 days in‑office, 2 days remote).
As a Geospatial Consultant, you will help clients make smarter, data‑driven decisions by leveraging location‑based data. Your work will involve data visualisation, multi‑criteria analysis, automation and efficiency, and best practice data management. You will deliver insights from big data to enable proactive management of assets and informed investment planning, ultimately benefiting communities.
Responsibilities
* Drive insights from big data to enable proactive management of assets and more informed investment planning.
* Develop and apply digital offerings across projects, working on data visualisation, multi‑criteria analysis, automation, and best practice data management.
* Champion new digital workflows and integrate technology and data into services and solutions.
Qualifications
* Prior experience as a GIS/Geospatial Analyst, preferably in consultancy or client‑facing roles.
* Strong proficiency with GIS platforms such as Esri ArcGIS Suite, QGIS, ArcGIS Online, or ArcGIS Enterprise.
* Experience in geospatial data processing and transformation using Python, SQL, ModelBuilder or FME.
* Knowledge of data management and best practices, and an innovative, inquisitive approach to work.
* Experience automating data processes is advantageous; experience in Water, Utilities or related Infrastructure sectors is a plus.
