* Our Children's SLT Service is expanding to meet increasing demand.
We can offer:
* Regular Band 5 seminars on clinical areas such as Autism Spectrum Conditions, Developmental Language Disorder, Speech Disorders, Stammering, EHCP report writing.
* Support for newly qualified therapists through the RCSLT competencies and weekly line management.

Main duties of the job
* Develop and deliver a Universal, Targeted Specialist model in mainstream schools, including EHCP intervention.
* Provide assessment and therapy services to a mixed paediatric caseload with speech, language and communication needs.
* Write reports and deliver training to parents, carers and professionals.
* Work with children with severe, additional and complex needs, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Difficulties and Speech Disorders.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop care plans and negotiate priorities.
* Use alternative communication methods, including signing, symbols and speech synthesizers.
* Maintain sensitivity to emotional needs and provide empathic care.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Recognised speech & language therapy degree or equivalent.
* Health Professions Council licence to practice.
* Registered member of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
Experience
* Experience managing clinic and caseload.
* Experience working with other professionals relevant to client groups.
Specific Skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills: observation, listening, empathy.
* Analytical skills for case‑load management, assessment and therapy.
* Audio‑and‑perceptual skills for assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
* Ability to transcribe speech phonetically.
* Skill in handling clients with disabilities.
* Concentration in all aspects of patient management.
* Negotiation and problem‑solving with clients and professionals.
Salary is determined by NHS experience and current banding/pay point. External applicants start at the entry point of the salary scale.
