Shift Plant Attendant
Salary: £34,477.99 per annum
Hours: 12hours per day, shifts covering days as required – shift pattern 4 on 4 off
Location: Dudley EFW, DY2 8YT

As a Shift Plant Attendant at FCC Environment, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of all tipping hall activities, support the movement and loading of IBA and other by products, and assist with deliveries of essential consumables. Working under the guidance of the Shift Team Leader, you will contribute to plant reliability, operational excellence and high standards of safety, environmental compliance and performance.

This vacancy is for a full time position, working a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off (days)

What will you be doing?
•Managing vehicles onsite and ensuring efficient turnaround of waste deliveries
•Ensuring compliance with the Environmental Permit and reporting non conformance
•Working within FCC’s Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality systems
•Participating in HSE initiatives, forums and procedure reviews
•Vehicle marshalling and operating mobile plant (Front Loader, Telehandler, FLT)
•Managing and removing IBA and other by products
•Carrying out waste inspections and identifying non conforming waste
•Accepting chemical/consumable deliveries and maintaining clean working areas
•Supporting maintenance responses and assisting breakdown activities
•Completing shift logging, defect reporting and reviewing operational specifications
•Writing/reviewing Method Statements and Risk Assessments
•Responding to emergencies as required
•Working flexibly, including call out support where necessary
•Engaging in continuous personal development and cross skilling

What are we looking for?
•Strong knowledge of HSE best practice (IOSH Managing Safely preferred)
•Experience within a process, industrial, operational or maintenance environment
•Ability to work effectively within a small, motivated team
•Understanding of traffic management in a busy operational environment
•Completion of relevant training and competency modules
•Front loading shovel and counterbalance licence desirable
•Excellent communication skills and computer literacy
•Self motivated, organised and able to work unsupervised
•Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
•Detail oriented, proactive and safety focused
•Potential to progress into Shift Team Leader or similar roles
