Our SEN school client have an exciting opportunity for a role within their Learning Support department. They are seeking a dedicated and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Learning Support Department.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact by providing in-class support pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), alongside delivering targeted learning support.
The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive team focused on improving educational outcomes and promoting independence for students with additional needs. The role requires flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to inclusive education.
You will be committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives and in supporting and developing their learning.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Working closely with students with a range of needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and speech & language difficulties.
2. Providing 1:1 support as well as small group interventions.
3. Supporting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
4. Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour in pupils.
5. Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Requirements:
6. Previous experience working in an SEN setting (school, care, or similar) is desirable.
7. A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
8. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a supportive team.
9. Willingness to learn and adapt to meet the individual needs of each student.
