SEMH Learning Support Assistant (Enhanced Rate SEN Allowance) Start Date: September 2026 Location: Basingstoke Pay: £14.20 per hour We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist provision in Basingstoke this September. This role involves working with pupils aged 10 who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and may display challenging behaviour. The Role Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour strategies and engagement in learning Build strong, professional relationships based on trust, consistency and clear boundaries Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams Implement behaviour support plans and contribute to progress reviews Promote a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment The Ideal Candidate Will: Have experience working with children or young people aged 10 with challenging behaviour Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience Be patient, empathetic and consistent in their approach Have experience in alternative provision, specialist settings or similar environments (desirable) Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential) Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children What We Offer: £14.20 per hour Enhanced LSA rate with additional SEN allowance Supportive and experienced leadership team Ongoing professional development opportunities A highly rewarding role within a specialist setting All applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS Child Workforce check and satisfactory safeguarding clearances in line with safer recruitment practices.
