An experienced midwife is required to join the Intrapartum Coordinators team, working within the Maternity Triage department at the Oxford Road site. The successful candidate will coordinate midwives and the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure effective, safe patient flow and a high quality service that adheres to local and national guidelines.
Key responsibilities include:
* Coordinating a team of midwives on the maternity Triage department and providing expert advice to colleagues within the organisation.
* Managing complex situations, ensuring efficient and safe patient flow within a fast‑paced acute environment.
* Developing practice and supporting change processes, influencing, negotiating and collaborating with other agencies to provide an integrated service.
* Working closely with the Labour Ward coordinating Midwife, the Triage Ward manager, the Midwifery Matron for Intrapartum Care, the Deputy Head of Midwifery and the Head of Midwifery.
Required qualifications and experience:
* Registered midwife with substantial experience in intrapartum and maternity services.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, confident in managing MDT and fostering teamwork.
* Evidence‑based knowledge of intrapartum practice and ability to work within an acute environment.
* Demonstrated ability to support change processes, influence and negotiate within a complex service.
