About the Role We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our Accounts Receivable team based in Newport. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the effective management, monitoring, and collection of receivables. Working alongside our experienced Credit Control Manager and wider finance team, you will focus on maximising cash collection, reducing aged debt, and building strong relationships with our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, confident communicating with customers, and eager to learn and develop their skills within a supportive finance team. Key Responsibilities Daily Action Plans: Proactively manage aged debt, review invoice status, and take appropriate steps to secure payment Bank Reconciliation: Complete daily bank cash allocations and reconciliations Communication: Respond promptly to emails and ensure customer account information is accurate and regularly updated Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to arrange payments and resolve any account queries or disputes Skills and Experience Required Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) is preferred Previous credit control experience would be an advantage Strong telephone manner and interpersonal communication skills Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple accounts and maintain accurate records Prior experience using Microsoft Excel A proactive problem solver who is quick to learn Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Good attention to detail Educated to GCSE level or equivalent What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is proactive, motivated, and eager to learn.
