Financial Controller (progressive role)
* Location: Ashford, Middx (covering three UK-based entities)
* Job Type: Full-time office-based role with travel to other sites (twice a month)
* Salary: Competitive, based on experience from £55k - 70K

You will be joining a global, fast-growing organisation in the storage, recycling, event management, and film archiving & restoration sectors. We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead and oversee the financial operations of our UK entities (3) This senior-level role is critical in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight across the business.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare statutory accounts and detailed cash flow forecasts, analyse financial trends and variances, and maintain financial systems, including software and banking integrations.
* Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage daily and long-term cash flow and drive initiatives to optimise working capital and overall profitability.
* Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop and uphold robust internal controls, ensuring adherence to financial policies and regulatory standards, and safeguard company assets through proactive risk management and compliance oversight.
* Team Leadership & Development: Lead the UK finance team, overseeing functions including nominal ledger and job costing, recruit, train, and evaluate team members in line with company policy and employment law.
* Financial Strategy & Risk Management: Contribute to long-term financial planning and strategy, annually review insurance coverage and identify areas of financial risk.
* Audit & Tax: Act as primary contact for external auditors; manage the year-end audit process, ensure timely and accurate submission of all tax filings and regulatory reporting, and collaborate with external tax advisors.
* Payroll Administration: Manage payroll processing, including salary calculations, deductions, and tax remittances.
* Stakeholder Communication: Present financial data to senior management and other key stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent certification preferred.
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
* At least 5 years’ experience in senior finance roles, ideally within a multi-entity organisation.
* Strong proficiency in accounting software, Excel, and adaptability with new technology platforms.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
