Key Relationships
Group Head of Compliance, BFL Senior Compliance Officers - General Advisory and Regulatory Affairs, Global Compliance advisory team, 2nd Line Assurance, Underwriters, Finance, Financial Crime team, DPO, Internal Audit, Culture and People, Risk Management, local regulatory authorities, outside legal counsel, Corporate Development and other internal stakeholders.
Job Summary
Provide compliance/regulatory advice to the Beazley Furlonge Limited (BFL) executive and functions including BFL’s overseas offices. Work on compliance matters impacting BFL, including international operations, from a strategic and regulatory standpoint. Develop understanding of UK and international compliance, support and advise in assigned areas, focusing on licensing and implementation effectiveness. Collaborate closely with the BFL General Advisory team and relevant jurisdiction heads.
Key Responsibilities
* Stay updated on key regulatory and legislative changes affecting BFL, performing impact analyses as needed.
* Provide compliance advice on regulatory concerns, emphasizing licensing and regulated activities.
* Support audit and assurance reviews.
* Assist the BFL General Advisory Compliance Manager and team on strategic projects.
* Partner with the BFL underwriting team on compliance for specific product lines or distribution areas.
* Contribute to BFL’s annual compliance plan.
* Oversee governance of breaches and compliance management.
Embedding compliance culture within Beazley
* Advise BFL’s businesses on compliance matters.
* Understand Beazley's operations and develop measures to embed compliance, including training and communications.
* Train BFL underwriting and claims staff on UK and Lloyd’s topics.
Compliance team
* Support the compliance team and BFL’s business with regulatory expertise.
* Develop understanding of UK and international compliance issues, advising on transactions and distribution initiatives.
* Build strong internal partnerships and maintain close relationships with the business.
* Work with assurance functions post-implementation of regulatory advice.
* Provide excellent customer service to internal teams for compliance support.
Personal Specification
Skills and Abilities
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

* Understanding of compliance concepts and the three lines of defence.
* Ability to identify improvements in compliance processes.

Knowledge And Experience
* At least 2 years’ insurance experience, preferably in Lloyd’s or the company market.
* Experience in compliance and understanding of core compliance concepts.
* Experience working with overseas offices and Lloyd’s international compliance.
* Interest in global distribution initiatives.
* Understanding of second line oversight principles.
