Job Description
· Management and development of the Financial Control team, incorporating accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, audit, contract asset, tax and treasury, with 5 direct reports;
· Working as part of the Finance Leadership Team to streamline processes across the wider team, to support each other and to share knowledge;
· Building strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders including the SMT, banks, advisors, lenders and auditors;
· Providing support and guidance to colleagues on finance matters as required;
· Ongoing validation, posting and reporting of Contract asset;
· Responsibility for the accounts receivable and accounts payable function;
· Overseeing the management accounts function, including P&L, balance sheet, indirect cashflow and all associated reporting;
· Cash flow management, including weekly position and rolling 13 week forecast;
· Playing a key part in the annual audit, supporting auditors to ensure a smooth and timely audit annually.
· Managing commercial audit team manager (Invoicing, estimating, purchase processing)
· Ongoing review and improvement of the Financial Control function, including ongoing review and maintenance of key controls and streamlining of processes.
· Building relationships with group accounting ensuring timely reporting
· Leading annual budget process and regular forecasting
The Successful Applicant
A successful Financial Controller should have:
* · Experienced Financial Controller with a clear view of "what good looks like";
* Possession of excellent managerial skills;
* Able to prioritise workload and communicate to stakeholders as required, managing expectations whilst continuing to deliver a professional service;
* Working knowledge of inventory accounting;
* Experienced in P&L, balance sheet and indirect cashflow compilation and reporting;
* Background in short term direct cashflow forecasting;
* Experienced in VAT principals;
* Passionate about simplification and leveraging technology as part of a continuous improvement agenda;
* Proactive, able to plan own workload whilst achieving deadline through structured planning, excellent organisation and strong time management skills;
* Resilient, calm under pressure, and strong emotional intelligence;
* Shares own knowledge and experience, and coaches team members to aid their development;
* Demonstrable ability to both prioritise and delegate;
* Able to negotiate, influence and persuade others to achieve win-win positive outcomes;
