We are looking for enthusiastic Pharmacy Technicians to support the antimicrobial stewardship service for University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the lead Pharmacist in implementing and promoting antimicrobial stewardship within the Trust.
2. Use EPMA to monitor and review antimicrobial prescriptions and escalate to clinical Pharmacists when review is needed.
3. Assist in delivering national and local antimicrobial stewardship strategies, including antimicrobial resistance and stewardship CQUIN.
4. Support data analysis and present reports on antibiotic audit results and actions.
5. Review trends from incidents, performance, infection rates, and RCA outputs to inform service objectives, research, and training strategies.
Requirements:
1. Qualified (GPhC registered) Pharmacy Technician.
2. Competent, able to prioritize work, and capable of implementing change and managing services.
3. Ideally working towards or willing to complete the Technician Clinical Diploma.
4. Ability to prioritize workload efficiently and work accurately under pressure.
5. Commitment to improving patient care and delivering high-quality pharmacy services.
Additional Information:
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH), Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH), as well as several community health premises including Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and RLI offer comprehensive hospital services, including Emergency Departments and Critical Care units. WGH provides general hospital services along with an Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life-threatening conditions. All facilities offer outpatient, diagnostic, and surgical services, complemented by outreach services across Morecambe Bay.
