Overview
Telford & Wrekin Council is seeking an experienced Senior Building Control Surveyor with class 2a-f or above qualification to join a dynamic professional Building Control Team. Location: Southwater Offices, Telford Town Centre. Salary: Up to £57,871 inc Market Factors. You will join a high-performing, award-winning Team and help shape the delivery of Building Control services across Telford.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate investigations into dangerous structures and take appropriate actions to ensure public safety.
* Deliver excellent customer service, working with clients to provide workable solutions and pragmatic decisions.
* Undertake examination for compliance of a full range of Building Regulation applications.
* Carry out site inspections and maintain accurate up-to-date records.
* Investigate breaches of Building Regulations and associated legislation; collate evidence, prepare reports, and attend court if required.
You’ll bring to the team
* Demonstrable experience of managing complex Building Regulation applications under the Building Act 1984.
* In-depth technical knowledge of Building Regulations and related legislation.
* Proven ability to problem solve with innovative, forward-thinking solutions.
* Excellent communication skills with ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and customers.
* Experience mentoring and supporting junior staff, providing technical advice and career guidance.
* Experience of plan checking for Building Regulation purposes.
