PU Moulding Shop Supervisor Location: Stone, Staffordshire Employment: Full-time (40-hours), day shifts (hours will flex to suit operational needs) Starting Salary: Up to £36k basic, rising to up to £40k basic after probationary period. Plus overtime payments over contractual hours. The Opportunity: We are seeking a proactive and skilled Production Supervisor to lead and coordinate daily operations within the PU department, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and health and safety procedures are consistently met. Responsible for managing a team, maintaining workflow efficiency, overseeing housekeeping, and supporting continuous improvement, the Supervisor will act as the key liaison between shop floor staff and management. This hands-on role requires a proactive leader with strong organisational skills and a commitment to upholding high standards across all aspects of production and team performance. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the initial setup of the PU Moulding Shop to ensure team members can begin work efficiently at the start of each shift. Monitor team attendance daily; promptly report any absences to Payroll and the Line Manager. Communicate daily task assignments clearly to the team, ensuring all activities meet required standards for productivity, quality, and health and safety including proper use of PPE, adherence to training protocols, and maintaining high housekeeping standards. Conduct regular quality checks throughout the shift. Identify and resolve any issues, escalating to management where necessary. Work collaboratively with Management and Logistics to align departmental objectives, ensuring smooth operations and shared targets are met. Manage the removal and storage of completed products from the PU Moulding Shop. Ensure items are correctly labelled with part number, quantity, and operator identification, and stored neatly in the WIP area. Verify that all team members are using the correct tools and are working according to the current production plan. Investigate and report any discrepancies. Review and sign off all indirect time sheets, and ensure accurate recording of data within CS3. Enforce punctuality and adherence to designated break times. Ensure all team members return promptly to their workstations. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, both inside and outside the PU Shop. Address untidiness proactively. Maintain detailed shift records, including any operational, health and safety, or quality issues. Ensure effective handover to the next shift and clear communication of any critical updates to the team. Take full ownership of all areas within the PU Moulding Department, including health and safety compliance, training and upskilling of team members, SOP updates, and continuous improvement initiatives. Lead by example in driving quality, housekeeping, and best practice. Essential Criteria: Supervisory experience running a small team and following a flexible schedule. Strong understanding of quality standards and health & safety compliance. Ability to monitor and manage production targets and standards. Confident in delegating tasks, conducting checks, and managing records. Competent in basic computer use and documentation. High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining standards. Desirable: Supervisory or Leadership qualification (e.g. ILM Level 2 or 3). Training or experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement. Experience of working with ERP systems (e.g. CS3). Involvement in process improvement initiatives. Knowledge of PU moulding processes and materials / working with Elastomers Ability to train and upskill team members. Resilient and calm under pressure. Keen to develop and progress within the business. Person Specification Strength of character firm but fair approach Proactive and hands-on Good organisational and time management skills. Leads by example and demonstrates strong leadership behaviours. Clear communicator with the ability to motivate and support others. Positive attitude to problem-solving and change.
