We are recruiting a compassionate and skilled Assistant Practitioner or Nursing Associate to join our Adult Acute Wards at Hellesdon Hospital NSFT. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic teams delivering inpatient mental health support to working age adults across Norfolk.
You will work under the supervision of registered professionals to provide high-quality care and interventions, supporting individuals in crisis and helping to reduce risk and support recovery.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of Consultant Psychiatrists, a Therapies team, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Assistant Practitioners, Peer Support Workers, Occupational Therapists, Clinical team leader and a Matron specialising in Mental Health.
We are looking for a B4 Assistant Practitioner with relevant mental health experience to join our Inpatient Adult Acute Mental Health Teams. This vacancy is based in the county of Norfolk. Main duties of the job
At Hellesdon Hospital we have 4 single-sex acute wards and 1 psychiatric intensive care unit for working age adults experiencing mental health crisis requiring an inpatient admission.
You will be responsible for:
Deliver direct care and support to service users, under supervision of registered clinicians.
Carry out delegated clinical tasks including care planning and interventions.
Complete medication rounds as a Registered Nursing Associate or Assistant Practitioner having completed the relevant training.
Maintain accurate records using Trust systems such as Lorenzo.
Promote recovery-focused care and social inclusion.
Work collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-agency partners
* Attending and leading multi‑disciplinary meetings.
* Lead and be involved in change projects to continuously improve the service.
* Support and Line Manage junior staff within your team.
Experience
* Experience working with Service Users with mental health needs.
* Experience working within Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
* Working knowledge and understanding of CPA process.
Qualifications
* Care certificate or relevant equivalent.
* Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care/mental health or apprenticeship in H&SC/mental health L5.
Skills
* Ability to communicate widely in a clear manner.
* Approachable, tactful, and diplomatic.
* Satisfactory verbal and written English language skills.
Knowledge
* Understanding of Mental Health issues.
* CPA.
Other
* Able to travel independently.
* Able to complete PMA.
