Assistant Practice Educator – Palliative care
Fixed term/secondment for 2 years
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated person to join the Department of Clinical and Professional Development, working collaboratively across Scottish Borders Health and Social Care Partnership.
* Are you experienced in delivering effective judgments and decisions for people with palliative care needs and care around dying?
* Are you committed to making a difference in a person’s care experience?
* Do you possess excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills?
This role involves providing education on palliative care and end-of-life care to health and social care staff in the Scottish Borders. It includes maintaining a presence in various care environments, delivering direct patient care alongside colleagues to role model and facilitate excellent practice, and supporting non-registered practitioners through coaching. The post holder will also engage in discussions with colleagues, assess and deliver care incorporating current practices, evidence, and future trends, and develop public health initiatives around palliative care for communities in the Scottish Borders.
The successful candidate should demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning, be forward-thinking, and have experience in both formal and informal teaching related to palliative care. The Assistant Practice Educator will have experience in supporting planning and delivering learning activities.
